Circular Materials is a national not-for-profit producer-led organization that supports producers in meeting their obligations under extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations for packaging and paper products across Canada.
Circular Materials works collaboratively with producers to provide value-added services including: a harmonized, national approach to producer compliance services, innovative recycling solutions, best-in-class systems and tools, strategic promotion and education initiatives, a dedicated customer relations team and a not-for-profit, cost-efficient service delivery model, to name just a few.
Circular Materials is building innovative recycling systems where materials are collected, recycled and returned to producers for use as recycled content in new products and packaging. In 2024, the organization will launch the first-of-its-kind Material Access Program, which will return processed material back to producers for use in new products and packaging to help meet recycled content targets and goals.
By facilitating the transformation of materials into valuable recycled content and ensuring that products and packaging maintain their highest value through recycling, Circular Materials is helping to advance the circular economy and support sustainable communities across Canada. Circular Materials works collaboratively with producers, communities and partners to implement best practices, drive systemic improvements in recycling management and ultimately help deliver tangible benefits to all stakeholders throughout the supply chain.
Circular Materials is working towards a streamlined, modernized recycling system which is characterized by strategic investments in innovative recycling infrastructure and collaborative partnerships across the supply chain – ultimately supporting a more sustainable future for people and the planet.
